A real asset to our small legal department

Piers has proved to be a real asset to our small legal department. We regularly ask him to help with our commercial contracts work, particularly in the IT procurement space. Pragmatic and commercial, Piers is a pleasure to work with and I have no hesitation in recommending him.

Piers has been acting for [our company] for 15 years - that longevity alone speaks volumes for how highly rated we regard him here.

He has calmly and professionally handled complex negotiations involving some of our most high profile and high value technology projects. He really understands the [company] community culture and mission here and we see him as an invaluable and experienced trusted advisor. In addition to Piers, more recently we have been working with other members of the Clayden Law team (currently Sukhpreet Bhinder) as additional resource for our small legal team -  they all bring the same no jargon, plain English approach to their work for us and they are all a pleasure to deal with.

Group General Counsel, major digital solutions company

Claydenlaw were recommended to us as SaaS specialist lawyers and they have not disappointed.

Hannah has helped with a very thorough overhaul of our terms and conditions and we have worked very closely with Piers on a number of projects on an almost daily basis. He is a pleasure to deal with – approachable and engaging which is a refreshing change from the more formal lawyers we might have dealt with in the past. He is a courteous negotiator that always strives to reach pragmatic solutions whilst protecting our commercial positions. Happy to recommend Piers and Hannah as technology law specialists.

Nick Gibson, COO, Sirenum

Piers and Hannah have provided fantastic support over the past year.

We are a fast growing company and they have been able to meet and exceed our need for fast turn around times. They clearly understand the SaaS workplace solutions industry and have been an enormous help both on commercial contract upgrades and negotiations and also data protection compliance issues (particularly around Brexit).

Kate Fyson, CFO/COO, Open Blend

We were referred to ClaydenLaw as data protection specialists.

We have been pleased with the service they have provided – clear,  thorough but pragmatic. I have enjoyed working with ClaydenLaw, Hannah Kirby in particular.

Rebecca King, Company Secretary, White Stuff

December 2019/January 2020 we were putting together the reseller agreement for Working Status, which (partly because of the way it had evolved and the format of the original paperwork) was quite a big piece of work.

You also subsequently helped convert our regular customer contract for NorthRow into a reseller earlier in the year, and then separately put together a more straightforward reseller template for the NorthRow service.  Later on in the year, you checked over some amendments that I’d made to the NorthRow standard customer contract to reflect backoffs that needed to be flowed down from suppliers, and updated the data protection aspects of the contract to address the possibility of additional local data protection laws applying to the customer’s use of the services, as well as potential for future divergence between UK GDPR and EU GDPR, and the ability to rely on standard contractual clauses to cover the possibility of the UK being designated as a third country for data transfers.

Jo Kavanagh, Northrow
